Garth MacKay
Senior Pastor
Garth and Liane MacKay have been ministering together for 40 years. Both were born and raised in Prince Edward Island, Canada’s smallest province. One year before their marriage in June 1985, they began singing in churches across various denominations throughout this beautiful island. Since then, they have ministered to congregations across New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Ontario, and have led worship gatherings in Maine and Pennsylvania, U.S.A. A few years ago, they had the special privilege of singing in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Garth studied theology and pastoral counselling at Acadia Divinity College, where he completed two degrees. He was ordained into Christian ministry in 2003 by Pleasant Valley Baptist Church (Yarmouth County, NS).
They have pastored churches in all three Maritime provinces. Garth later completed doctoral studies, graduating from the University of Stirling (UK) in 2015. His dissertation was titled “The Holiness Movement in the Canadian Maritime Region, 1880–1920.” Before their ministry careers began, Garth earned degrees in Arts and Education, while Liane completed a science degree in nutrition and her dietetic internship. In 2007, she graduated from the CBAC’s three-year Lay Pastoral Training Program.
In August 2022, after many years of pastoral ministry, Garth and Liane launched an itinerant ministry called All Things New Ministries.
In January 2024, they began serving at Faith Bible Church—a dynamic, multicultural congregation of diverse and loving people!
