Welcome to our praise and worship guide using the Psalms.
This guide is intended to help you spend a few minutes in worship on a daily basis. The worship activities for each day will take about 10 minutes, and are best done before your normal devotional time. May God richly bless you as you take time to reflect on who He is and what He’s doing in your life!
Psalm 26
“O Lord, Test My Heart and My Mind”
Day 1 |
Read verse 1. Praise God today because He is worthy to be trusted. Affirm to Him your trust in Him. Ask Him to reveal to you in what ways you need to go deeper in your trust. Spend time listening for His voice. Tell Him your desire to be blameless and to trust without slipping. |
Day 2 |
Read verses 2 and 3. Ask God to examine your heart today, both your thought life and your affections. Listen as His Spirit points out thoughts or affections you need to surrender to Him. Tell Him how much you desire to go deeper in your love for Him, and to walk in His truth. |
Day 3 |
Read verses 4 to 8. Affirm to the Lord your commitment to His ways. Ask Him specifically to point out any hypocritical ways in your life that you need to turn from, especially at school or in your workplace. Commit to being a spokesperson for the “wonderful deeds” of God, rather than a voice of negativity. Thank Him for the opportunity to worship Him. |
Day 4 |
Read verses 9 to 11. Again, affirm to the Lord your commitment to live blame-lessly before Him. Are there areas where you need His redemption from your enemies or from your own sinful nature today? Are there areas of weakness where you need His mercy? Ask Him for these. |
Day 5 |
Read verse 12. Thank God for the firm level ground of His faithfulness and truth that you stand on. Tell Him how much you love worshipping with His family; think of how you might “bless the Lord” to someone else this Sunday. |
