Welcome to our praise and worship guide using the Psalms.

This guide is intended to help you spend a few minutes in worship on a daily basis. The worship activities for each day will take about 10 minutes, and are best done before your normal devotional time. May God richly bless you as you take time to reflect on who He is and what He’s doing in your life!

Psalm 131

“Like a child…”

Day 1  Read the entire Psalm. Praise God today because He is a God of hope. Rejoice in the fact that His care and sustenance allows you to enjoy quietness and calm in your soul. Thank Him for specific provisions that have come from His hand.
Day 2  Read verse 1a. Reflect on your relationship with God, as a parent to a child. Ask Him to show you areas of your life where you need to cast down a haughty attitude. Bow in humble worship, and ask God to fill you with peace and quiet-ness. Thank Him for this trusting peace and calm you can enjoy as His child.
Day 3  Read verse 1b. Again, praise God because His knowledge, infiniteness and eternality are so high above your own understanding. Ask Him to create a deep-er sense of dependence on Him, as you let go of areas you try to control or un-derstand. Affirm to Him that your life is in His hands.
Day 4  Read verse 2. Today continue to ask God to make you aware of areas of your life you may be trying to understand, work out and control. Turn these areas over to Him by telling Him His understanding and power are infinitely greater than yours. Tell Him how much you treasure your relationship with Him as His child.
Day 5  Pray the entire Psalm back to God today. Affirm to Him that your hope is in Him. Tell Him how you look forward to the coming days with a sense of peace and quietness because of a deepened sense of hope in God.
