Welcome to our praise and worship guide using the Psalms.
This guide is intended to help you spend a few minutes in worship on a daily basis. The worship activities for each day will take about 10 minutes, and are best done before your normal devotional time. May God richly bless you as you take time to reflect on who He is and what He’s doing in your life!
Psalm 103
“As a Father, the Lord Shows Compassion”
Day 1 |
Read verses 1-6. Think about the specific benefits you have from God and tell Him about them. Thank Him because of these. Thank Him for specific times He has forgiven and healed you. Tell Him specifically how He has satisfied your desires, and thank Him for this. Praise Him for His mercy and goodness. |
Day 2 |
Read verses 7-12. Praise the Lord because of His compassion. Tell Him how His compassion encourages you. Spend some time in confession today. Ask Him to show you patterns in your life that you need to leave behind. Confess whatev-er He reveals to you, and be assured of His forgiveness. Thank Him for His pa-tience with you. |
Day 3 |
Read verses 13 and 14. Thank God for past compassion He has shown you as your heavenly Father. Be specific. Think about areas of weakness in your life, and cry out to Him for His compassion, as a child cries to a father. Thank Him for your relationship with Him in His spiritual family. |
Day 4 |
Read verses 15-18. Affirm to the Lord today that you desire to follow Him and obey His precepts. Bring an area of your life to Him where you have difficulty obeying, and ask Him for a greater passion for obedience. Tell Him how His promise of everlasting love encourages you. |
Day 5 |
Read verses 19-22. Today tell God how His sovereignty brings you joy. Praise Him because He is sovereign. Thank Him for making you part of His eternal family. |
