Welcome to our praise and worship guide using the Psalms.
This guide is intended to help you spend a few minutes in worship on a daily basis. The worship activities for each day will take about 10 minutes, and are best done before your normal devotional time. May God richly bless you as you take time to reflect on who He is and what He’s doing in your life!
Psalm 119:9-16
“I Delight in the Way of Your Testimonies”
Day 1 |
Read verses 1 and 2. Start by praising God because of His holiness and right-eousness that His word reveals to us. Thank Him for His Word. Pray verse 2 to Him. Spend some time worshipping by treasuring your relationship with God, and telling Him how much you want to know Him and live a pure life. |
Day 2 |
Read verses 10-11. Think about times when God’s Word has helped you in temptation or testing. Tell God about these times and thank Him for the way His Word helped you. Pray verse 10 to the Lord again, and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal areas of your life where you may have strayed: confess these. |
Day 3 |
Pray verses 10-13 to the Lord. Think about some of God’s commands. What do these commands tell us about what God is like? Praise Him because of these attributes. Tell God which commands you desire to follow more devotedly. As you quietly worship, allow the Holy Spirit to fill you in order to do this. |
Day 4 |
Pray verses 14-16 to the Lord. Think about times when it was a delight to fol-low God’s precepts. Tell God about these times. In what way is your experience like great riches? Tell Him how you rejoice in this, and in your fellowship with God. Ask Him to continue producing kindness, mercy and compassion in you. |
Day 5 |
Pray verses 10-16 to the Lord. Make each affirmation in this passage part of your commitment to seeking Him with all of your heart. Allow some quiet time to allow Him to speak to you about areas where you need to be more obedient. |
