Welcome to our praise and worship guide using the Psalms.

This guide is intended to help you spend a few minutes in worship on a daily basis. The worship activities for each day will take about 10 minutes, and are best done before your normal devotional time. May God richly bless you as you take time to reflect on who He is and what He’s doing in your life!

Day 1

Read verse 1. Praise God today because He is Lord—sovereign, authoritative, powerful. How does His Lordship over all things make a difference in your life? Tell Him this. Affirm to Him that He is your Lord. Try to think of a worship song about His Lordship (eg. “He is Lord”), and sing it to Him. Tell Him why this song is a “new song” for you since being saved.

Day 2

Read verse 2. Praise God today because He is the Maker of all things. Tell Him what there is about Creation and your physical life that makes you glad. Tell Him how glad you are that He has also given you eternal life among His chosen people. What does it mean to you that God is King—majestic, merciful to you? Tell Him this and tell Him how much your rejoice because He is your King.

Day 3

Read verse 3-4. Today, tell the Lord how you rejoice because you are the object of His pleasure, as one of His people. Remind Him specifically of how He saved you, and tell Him how salvation “adorns” (decorates) your life now. Ask Him to show you any area of your life where you need to be less arrogant, more hum-ble, confess this and receive His forgiveness. Sing a song of praise to Him.

Day 4

Read verse 5. Praise God today because He glorifies Himself through your life, as you honour Him. Ask Him to show you in what specific way you need to be more godly. Ask Him to enable you to be more godly with the power of His Holy Spirit. Tell Him how joyful His work in you life makes you. Sing to Him.

Day 5

Read verses 6-9. Praise God today because someday He will execute judgment. Tell Him how it honours you to be part of His righteous reign someday. Praise Him however the Spirit leads you.
