Welcome to our praise and worship guide using the Psalms.
This guide is intended to help you spend a few minutes in worship on a daily basis. The worship activities for each day will take about 10 minutes, and are best done before your normal devotional time. May God richly bless you as you take time to reflect on who He is and what He’s doing in your life!
Psalm 4
Day 1
Read verse 1. Pray this verse to the Lord. Praise God because He is righteous (He does what is right, fair). What distress do you have today? Pray to Him for relief from it. In what way do you need His mercy? Bow before Him and ask for the mercy He wants to pour into your life today. |
Day 2
Read verses 2-3. Ask the Lord to search your life today to see if there is any way you have turned His glory into shame or if you are seeking false gods. Give His Spirit time to do this. Confess and turn from these things. Tell the Lord how you desire to be godly. Tell Him how the promise of this verse gives you joy. |
Day 3
Read verses 4-5. Continue to allow the Lord to search your heart today for any selfish way. In particular, confess and turn from any anger you may be holding. Be silent before the Lord as you listen for His voice. What sacrifice or commit-ment is He asking you to make? In what way do you need to trust Him more deeply? Ask Him for deeper faith to make these commitments. |
Day 4
Read verse 6. Praise God for His righteousness again. What good has He shown you recently; thank Him for showing you this. Commit more deeply to godliness; ask Him to make you a reflection of His glory as the light of His face shines on you. |
