Welcome to our praise and worship guide using the Psalms.

This guide is intended to help you spend a few minutes in worship on a daily basis. The worship activities for each day will take about 10 minutes, and are best done before your normal devotional time. May God richly bless you as you take time to reflect on who He is and what He’s doing in your life!

Day 1

Read verses 1 to 4. Praise God today because He is sovereign, powerful and wise. Acknowledge to Him that His ways are above your understanding. Con-fess any area of your life where you feel He is absent, and affirm to Him that He is your God and you trust Him. Ask Him to search your heart for any arrogant attitude; confess this. Tell Him how you rejoice because of His powerful control.

Day 2

Read verses 5 to 7. Praise God today because He is a God of justice, who sees the sinfulness of the wicked. Ask the Lord for spiritual eyesight, to see His pur-pose in the world around you. Ask Him to guard your heart against presuming to be in charge of your own life. Ask Him to search your heart for any sinfulness of speech; listen as His Spirit makes you aware of this, and confess your sin.

Day 3

Read verses 8 to 11. Praise God today because He is a God of mercy, who does not forget the weak. Think about how God has come to you in times of helpless-ness or poverty. Thank Him for His strength and provision. Ask Him for a heart of mercy toward others, and commit to Him to serve those who are in need.

Day 4

Read verses 12-15. Praise God today because He is the God who arises and acts on behalf of the oppressed. Think about any time recently when He has been a “helper of the fatherless” to you. Thank Him for this. Pray that God in His justice will come quickly and call to account those who are doing evil in the world
