Welcome to our praise and worship guide using the Psalms.

This guide is intended to help you spend a few minutes in worship on a daily basis. The worship activities for each day will take about 10 minutes, and are best done before your normal devotional time. May God richly bless you as you take time to reflect on who He is and what He’s doing in your life!

Day 1

Read verses 1 to 4. These verses refer to Jesus. Praise God today because of His steadfast love and faithfulness in keeping His promises, especially His promise to David of a future King, Jesus. Tell Him what His faithfulness means to you. Let this Christmas season remind you of the wise men; bow before Jesus as King as they did. Tell Him what it means that He is your King.

Day 2

Pray verses 5 to 7 to the Lord today. Praise Him for the specific wonders that He has done around you and in your life. Again, praise Him because He is faith-ful. Tell Him why He is worthy to be reverenced; affirm your desire to Him to reverence Him more. How do you personally need to exalt Him? Tell Him this.

Day 3

Pray verses 8 to 10 to the Lord today. Praise Him because of His strength. Think about times in the past when you have experienced the Lord’s strength in your life and thank Him. Who or what are your enemies today? Ask God to crush the specific enemies that hinder you right now.

Day 4

Pray verses 11 to 14 to the Lord today. Praise Him because of His powerful sovereign rule. Tell Him how His creation reminds you of this. Meditate on what it means that you belong to the sovereign Lord as part of His creation, and tell Him this. Tell Him how you rejoice because of His equity, justice and loyal love.

Day 5

Read verses 15 to 18 today. Praise God because of His favour and justice. Tell Him how you rejoice in His name (His authority, sovereignty). In what area of your life do you need justice? Ask the Lord for this, for yourself and others. In what are of your life do you need victory? Tell God you believe the promise in verse 17; ask Him to show you what hinders your victory. Claim this promise.
