Welcome to our praise and worship guide using the Psalms.

This guide is intended to help you spend a few minutes in worship on a daily basis. The worship activities for each day will take about 10 minutes, and are best done before your normal devotional time. May God richly bless you as you take time to reflect on who He is and what He’s doing in your life!

Day 1

Read verse 1. Praise the Lord for His righteousness (He is a covenant-keeping God; He provides salvation by a new covenant relationship through Jesus). Tell Him how you are filled with awe and reverence at His justice, mercy and faith-fulness. How is obeying God a delight for you? Tell Him how you take joy in your relationship with Him.

Day 2

Read verses 2 and 3. How has your family been blessed because of your obedi-ence to God? Thank Him for these blessings. How has God provided for you? What intangible riches do you have because of your relationship with Him? Spend today looking for these kinds of blessings and thanking Him for them.

Day 3

Read verses 3 and 4. Think about a recent time of darkness in your life. What light did God give you in that? Thank Him. Ask the Lord to show you areas of your life where you need to be more gracious, generous and compassionate.

Day 4

Read verses 6-8. What is it about the Lord that allows you to have no fear? Meditate on these attributes. Ask God to fill you with assurance of His power. Ask Him to help your unbelief. Affirm to Him your desire to worry less, to be steadfast in your trust and obedience to Him, to be spiritually upright.

Day 5

Read verse 9-10. Tell the Lord how much you rejoice in the fact that He uses you as His instrument of blessing to others. Think about how your acts of love have an eternal quality, and that God will honour you because of them. How does this bless you? Tell the Lord this and thank Him for the blessing of serving.
