Welcome to our praise and worship guide using the Psalms.
This guide is intended to help you spend a few minutes in worship on a daily basis. The worship activities for each day will take about 10 minutes, and are best done before your normal devotional time. May God richly bless you as you take time to reflect on who He is and what He’s doing in your life!
Psalm 9
Day 1
Read verses 1-4. Praise God today because He is a just God. What wondrous deeds has He done in your life that make you glad? Tell Him this and thank Him. Think about how He has defeated your enemies (sin and Satan) specifical-ly, and thank Him. Tell Him what it means to you that He is “Most High.” |
Day 2
Read verses 5-8. Praise God today because He is sovereign and eternal. Ask Him to give you a fresh sense of how He hates wickedness. Ask His Spirit to search your heart for wicked patterns; listen for His voice, confess your sin to Him and receive forgiveness. Thank Him that in Jesus you are not condemned. |
Day 3
Read verses 9-12. Praise God today because of His strength. Tell Him about the times in your life when He has not forsaken you, but has been your stronghold. What trouble are you facing today? Seek Him and cry out to Him about this. Ask Him for a deeper faith in the strength and power of His name. |
Day 4
Read verses 13-16. Praise God today because He is gracious. Continue to seek Him and cry out to Him in your trouble or affliction today. Tell Him how you are determined not to follow the ways of the world around you in handling your trouble. Tell Him how much your are rejoicing in your salvation. |
Day 5
Read verses 17-20. Praise God today because of His compassion toward your need. Tell Him how much you need Him, and how you hope in Him. Ask Him to show you any way in which you may have been hoping in the ways of men instead of His strength. Listen for His voice and confess any worldly ways to Him. Thank Him for saving you from death and hell. |
