Welcome to our praise and worship guide using the Psalms.
This guide is intended to help you spend a few minutes in worship on a daily basis. The worship activities for each day will take about 10 minutes, and are best done before your normal devotional time. May God richly bless you as you take time to reflect on who He is and what He’s doing in your life!
Read verses 1 and 2. Praise the Lord because He is sovereign. Think specifical-ly about how this makes you glad, and tell Him how you rejoice in His reign in your life. How do God’s righteousness and justice make a difference in your life. Tell Him how joyful you are because of this.
Read verse 3-5. Praise God because He is powerful. Think about powerful acts He has done in your life, and thank Him for these one by one. Who are the ad-versaries that God destroys? Tell Him how joyful you are that He is more power-ful than these enemies.
Read verses 6-7. Praise God today because He is a righteous, glorious God. How have you seen God’s glory lately? Tell Him this; tell Him how your rejoice that He has revealed Himself to you in this way. Ask Him to show you any idols your are worshipping in your life. Turn away from these things as He leads you.
Read verses 8-9. Praise God today because He is highly exalted. What gods is He exalted above? Tell Him how highly exalted He is above specific gods. Think about His coming judgment someday, and tell Him how that makes you rejoice.
Read verses 10-12. How has the Lord preserved and delivered you recently? Thank Him for this. How has He given you light and joy? Again, thank Him. Tell Him how His goodness causes you to rejoice.
