Welcome to our praise and worship guide using the Psalms.
This guide is intended to help you spend a few minutes in worship on a daily basis. The worship activities for each day will take about 10 minutes, and are best done before your normal devotional time. May God richly bless you as you take time to reflect on who He is and what He’s doing in your life!
Psalm 84
Day 1
Read verses 1 and 2. Praise God today because He is a living God. Tell God how much you hunger for an intimate daily walk with Him. Confess the things that have crowded Him out of your life, as the Spirit leads you. Tell Him how joyful His presence in your life makes you. |
Day 2
Read verses 3 and 4. Praise God today because He is loving and near to us, and makes His dwelling place in our hearts. Thank Him for the access you have to His presence because of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Tell Him how blessed you are to constantly live in His presence (The Psalmist was expressing envy of the nesting birds and the priests who lived in the temple). |
Day 3
Read verses 5-7. Praise God because of His mercy and compassion. When has God’s grace in your life been like rain in the desert (Valley of Baca)? When has He strengthened you in your weakness? Thank Him for this. These verses pic-ture pilgrims going to Zion to appear before God; affirm to Him your desire to come to Him more often for the strength you need. Ask Him for faith in this. |
Day 4
Read verses 8 and 9. Praise God again for His compassion and mercy. Thank Him specifically for His answers to your recent prayers. One blessing of having access to God is bringing your petitions to Him. Bring your personal requests before Him today. |
Day 5
Read verses 10-12. Affirm to God again your desire to turn from evil and walk closely with Him. Think about the good things the Lord has given you; tell Him about these and thank Him. Ask Him for more faith to trust Him in daily life. |
