Welcome to our praise and worship guide using the Psalms.
This guide is intended to help you spend a few minutes in worship on a daily basis. The worship activities for each day will take about 10 minutes, and are best done before your normal devotional time. May God richly bless you as you take time to reflect on who He is and what He’s doing in your life!
Psalm 55
Day 1
Read verses 1 to 3. Thank God today for His compassion on you in your dis-tress in times past. Who or what are your enemies, and what suffering are they causing you to endure. Cry out to God in whatever is distressing you. |
Day 2
Read verses 4 to 8. What is it that causes you to be afraid today? Tell God this. Thank Him for His Spirit in your life, Who is like a dove of peace. As you pour out your anxieties, allow His Spirit to carry your heart upward to rest and be at peace in your relationship with Him. Claim the promise in verse 22; repeat it to yourself throughout the day today. |
Day 3
Read verses 12 to 14 and 20 to 21. Praise God today because of His wisdom in His design of the church, and our need for one another. Thank Him specifically for those who have encouraged you recently. Pray against disunity in our church today. Commit to God to be an encouragement in our congregation. |
Day 4
Read verses 16 to 19. In what way do you feel embattled today? Thank God for His salvation in the past. Praise Him because He sits on His sovereign throne. Cry out to Him if something distresses you today. Take comfort from the prom-ise that He will ransom you unharmed. |
Day 5
Read verses 22 to 23. Think about a righteous person who has been an example to you; thank the Lord for this person. Tell Him how this person has been a walking testimony to the truth of this verse. Commit to living this kind of life. |
