Welcome to our praise and worship guide using the Psalms.

This guide is intended to help you spend a few minutes in worship on a daily basis. The worship activities for each day will take about 10 minutes, and are best done before your normal devotional time. May God richly bless you as you take time to reflect on who He is and what He’s doing in your life!

Day 1

Read verses 1-6: Praise God today because of His holiness. Tell Him how glorious, beautiful and perfect His holiness is. Think about nature that you see around you; how does it show God’s righteousness? Tell Him this. Thank Him for the covenant of salvation that protects you from the fire of His judgment. Tell Him how much you desire to be faithful to Him in living a sacrificial, holy life.

Day 2

Read verses 7-11: Praise God today because of His self-sufficiency. Thank Him for the specific ways He has been sufficient for you in the past. Affirm to Him again that He is your God. Today, ask His Holy Spirit to search your heart for any empty religion—areas of your life where you pay lipservice to God but where your heart is far from Him.

Day 3

Read verses 12-15: Continue praise God because He is all-sufficient. Continue asking Him to show you any areas of empty religion in your life. Are there areas of your life where you need to be more thankful? Tell Him this. What commitments do you need to follow through on more diligently? What about your marriage vows? Ask Him to empower you in these? Call on Him for specific needs today. End your time asking Him for the power to glorify Him with your life.

Day 4

Read verses 16-21: As you read the various sins listed here, ask God’s Spirit to open your eyes to anything that you might be harbouring in your heart. Be especially sensitive to offences against others. Confess these to God.

Day 5

Read verses 22-23: Again offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving to God today, especially in areas of your life where you haven’t been thankful. Tell Him how much you hunger to glorify Him with your life. Cry out to Him for His guidance to help you walk a right path; rejoice in the salvation you have from Him.
