Welcome to our praise and worship guide using the Psalms.
This guide is intended to help you spend a few minutes in worship on a daily basis. The worship activities for each day will take about 10 minutes, and are best done before your normal devotional time. May God richly bless you as you take time to reflect on who He is and what He’s doing in your life!
Read verses 1 and 2. Praise God because of His power and protection today. What do you need deliverance from today? Cry out to God, and ask Him to save you. Affirm your trust in Him; tell Him you take refuge in Him.
Read verses 3-5. Wait quietly before the Lord today, asking Him if there is any guilt in your life that needs to be forgiven. Listen for His voice as He probes your heart; turn from any sin He brings to your attention.
Read verses 6-9. Praise God today because of His justice. Tell Him how you rejoice in His righteousness. Affirm to Him that He is sovereign in your life, and that you are submitting to His rule of righteousness. Affirm your commitment to His righteousness and integrity. Cry out to Him to bring justice to the world.
Read verses 10-13. In what way is God your shield? Tell Him this. Praise Him for His salvation. Again affirm your commitment to living uprightly before Him. Think of situations where individuals or our society is in danger of suffering God’s wrath; pray that those involved will turn to God before it’s too late.
Read verses 14-17. Thank the Lord for His righteousness today. How has His righteousness in your life specifically made a difference for you? Tell Him this. Choose a song that exalts God: pray or sing the words of the song to God. Keep this song with you today.
