Welcome to our praise and worship guide using the Psalms.

This guide is intended to help you spend a few minutes in worship on a daily basis. The worship activities for each day will take about 10 minutes, and are best done before your normal devotional time. May God richly bless you as you take time to reflect on who He is and what He’s doing in your life!

Psalm 30

“You Restored Me to Life”

Day 1

Read verses 1 to 3. Praise the Lord today because of His mercy. When has He “hoisted” you up? Thank Him for this, and for any times He has healed you. Ask Him for His help and His healing right now. Think about your salvation, and pray verse 3 to Him as you reflect on the way He saved you.

Day 2

Read verses 4 and 5. Praise God today because of His grace. Do what David suggests here: sing a song of praise to Him, and stay in His presence long enough to thank Him for several things He has done recently in your life. Thank Him for any times He has disciplined you; thank Him for His grace that He gives freely to you; thank Him for the joy He brings to you even after sorrow.

Day 3

Read verses 6 and 7. Praise God today because of His mercy. Is there any selfconfidence or pride in your life that you need to abandon? Ask Him to search you and show you; wait for His answer. Thank Him because He strengthens us in spite of our pride. Tell Him how much you desire His presence and favour.

Day 4

Read verses 8 to 10. Praise God today because of His faithfulness. Ask Him specifically for His mercies of forgiveness and healing in the needy areas of your life. Ask Him for His help in the specific areas where you need His power and sovereignty.

Day 5

As you read verses 11 and 12 today, tell the Lord how He has given you a reason to rejoice. Thank Him specifically for His Son Jesus, and for the specific benefits of salvation that you enjoy because of His sacrifice. As we end the Christmas season, decide how you will personally celebrate God’s mercy and grace, and determine to praise and thank Him with a passion that honours Him.
