Welcome to our praise and worship guide using the Psalms.

This guide is intended to help you spend a few minutes in worship on a daily basis. The worship activities for each day will take about 10 minutes, and are best done before your normal devotional time. May God richly bless you as you take time to reflect on who He is and what He’s doing in your life!

***This week we look at verses from Isaiah the prophet as we approach Christmas.

Day 1

Read verses 2. Praise God today because of His wisdom and grace in sending Jesus when the world was in great darkness. In what way were you walking in darkness when Jesus found you. Tell Him this and thank Him. What area of your life seems full of darkness today? Ask Him for the light of His Spirit.

Day 2

Read verse 6 today. Praise God today because of His wisdom and strength. Tell Him how you have experienced His guidance and power in the past, and thank Him. In what way do you need the Lord to be your Wonderful Counsellor today? Ask Him specifically for the guidance you need. In what way do you need the Lord’s strength and power. Ask Him for this.

Day 3

Read verse 6 again. Praise the Lord today because He is eternal. Think of times when His peace has come to you, and thank Him for this. In what way do you need to rest in the everlasting compassion of the Father today? Tell Him this. In what area of your life do you need peace? Ask Him for this also.

Day 4

Read verse 7 today. Praise God because of His sovereignty. Tell Him how much you rejoice today because He is in control. Tell Him what it means to you that He will some day fully bring justice and righteousness to the world. Ask His Spirit to search your heart for any area of your life that is not under His sovereign rule. Repent, if you need to, and submit yourself fully to Him.

Day 5

Read verse 7 again. Praise God because of His kingdom purposes that He is bringing about in the world and in your life. Spend some time today asking Him to fill your heart with the same zeal that He has for His glory. Recommit yourself to serving Him with passion as He shows you His will day by day.
