Welcome to our praise and worship guide using the Psalms.
This guide is intended to help you spend a few minutes in worship on a daily basis. The worship activities for each day will take about 10 minutes, and are best done before your normal devotional time. May God richly bless you as you take time to reflect on who He is and what He’s doing in your life!
Psalm 13
Day 1
Read verse 1 today. Praise God today because of His compassion for you and His nearness to you. Think about times when you have experienced God’s intimate involvement in your life, and thank Him specifically. Do you feel as if He has abandoned you? Tell Him this and ask Him to show you His presence again.
Day 2
Read verse 2 today. Praise God today because He is a God of wisdom. Recall times when He has led you and given you the wisdom you needed; tell Him this and thank Him. Is there some area of your life where you are wrestling in your mind, where you need wisdom. Ask God for this. Who or what are your enemies and why? Tell God this, and ask Him to give you victory over them.
Day 3
Read verses 3 and 4 today. Praise God because He is sovereign and powerful. What is exhausting you and sucking life from you? Tell Him this and ask Him to revive you, to restore the light in your eyes. Ask Him to glorify Himself through your life and not allow you to become a cause of unrighteous rejoicing by others.
Day 4
Read verse 5. Praise God today because of His faithful love for you. Thank Him for sending Jesus, whose cross-work is the basis for God’s covenant love. Tell Him how you trust in His promises; be specifc. Tell Him how you rejoice because you have Him as your Deliverer.
Day 5
Read verse 6. Praise God today because He is a good God. Think about specific times recently when you have seen God working in your circumstances and relationships to accomplish His good purpose. Be specific as you tell Him about these times and thank Him. Tell Him how His past faithfulness strengthens your faith. Think of a song or part of a song of thanks that you can sing all day today.
