Welcome to our praise and worship guide using the Psalms.
This guide is intended to help you spend a few minutes in worship on a daily basis. The worship activities for each day will take about 10 minutes, and are best done before your normal devotional time. May God richly bless you as you take time to reflect on who He is and what He’s doing in your life!
Psalm 146
Day 1
Read verses 1 and 2. Praise the Lord today because of His steadfast love, power, justice and compassion. How have these attributes of God been personal for you recently. Tell Him this. Choose a song of praise and speak the lyrics, or sing the song to the Lord today. Keep the song in your heart all day.
Day 2
Read verses 3 and 4. Praise God because He is sovereign in the universe. Thank Him for His reign in your life. What human resources are you trusting in instead of the Lord. Confess this to Him, and ask Him to increase your faith in Him alone. Thank God for our government leaders, and pray for them, realizing they are under His control.
Day 3
Read verses 5-7a. Thank God today for specific blessings that He has given you because of your hope in Him. Praise Him because He is powerful and eternally faithful to His promises. In what way do you need justice or provision today? Tell the Lord this, and pray for those in our world who are also needy.
Day 4
Read verses 7b-9. Thank the Lord again today for His promises, and for Jesus, whose blood purchased God’s goodness for us. Tell the Lord how He has set you free, or opened your eyes, or lifted you up, and thank Him. Praise Him because He is righteous. Thank Him for His protection. Pray again today for the needy.
Day 5
Read verse 10. Praise the Lord again today because He is sovereign. Tell Him what it means that He is your sovereign Lord. Make a fresh commitment to obeying Him and desiring His righteousness in your life. Tell Him how much you long for the day when He will establish His kingdom on earth. Praise the Lord again today because of His steadfast love, power, justice and compassion.
