Welcome to our praise and worship guide using the Psalms. This guide is intended to help you spend a few minutes in worship on a daily basis. The worship activities for each day will take about 10 minutes, and are best done before your normal devotional time. May God richly bless you as you take time to reflect on who He is and what He’s doing in your life!
Read verses 1 and 2. Praise God because He is your rock and refuge. Tell Him what it means to you that He is your rock. What help do you need in your life? Tell Him how you need Him to revive you and lift you out of the pit of death you’re in. Call out to the Lord for His specific mercy. Pray these verses to Him
Read verses 3 to 5. Praise God because of the works of His hand that He has shown you. Ask Him for a heart that hungers for Him. Invite the Holy Spirit to search you for any sin, especially hypocrisy, that may be in your heart. Confess your sin to the Lord and receive His forgiveness.
Read verses 6 and 7. Praise God today, and thank Him for the way He has answered your prayers in the past. Pray these verses to Him. Tell Him how He is your strength and affirm to Him that your trust is in Him. Sing or recite a song to Him and let your heart exult as you do so.
Read verse 8. Praise God because of His power. Tell Him how He has been your strength in the past. Rehearse to Him how He saved you, and praise and thank Him. How has He been a saving refuge for you in other ways. Tell Him this and thank Him. Thank Him that you have been chosen in Him; be awed.
Read verse 9. Praise God because He is a God of salvation. In what way do you need the Lord to save you today. Tell Him this as you cry out to Him again for His help. Ask Him to bless our congregation. Tell Him how much we as a church need Him, the Great Shepherd, to lead and feed us, and even to carry us at times. Thank Him for the way He has done this in the past.
