Welcome to our praise and worship guide using the Psalms. This guide is intended to help you spend a few minutes in worship on a daily basis. The worship activities for each day will take about 10 minutes, and are best done before your normal devotional time. May God richly bless you as you take time to reflect on who He is and what He’s doing in your life!
Read verses 1 and 2. Praise God today because He is eternal. Think about what this means specifically in your life, and tell Him this. How has He been a “dwelling place” for you and your family? Tell Him specifically how He has done this, and thank Him.
Read verses 3 to 6. Pray these verses to God. Think about how temporary your life is in comparison to God and eternity. Tell Him why this causes you to trust in Him. Affirm to Him again that He is your God. Tell Him how much you treasure the security you have in the eternal life He has given you.
Read verses 7 to 11. Praise God today because He is a just God. Ask Him to probe your heart for any specific sins or patterns of unfaithfulness that you need to repent of. Confess anything He brings to light, and tell Him how you are rejoicing because you are no longer condemned under His wrath.
Read verses 12 to 14. Simply pray these requests to the Lord today. Ask Him for wisdom as you plan your days; think about any affliction you’re suffering, and ask Him to return quickly; ask Him to open your eyes to His loving ways so that you are satisfied in Him. Tell Him how much you rejoice because of this.
Read verses 15 to 17. Again, simply pray these requests to the Lord: ask Him to make you glad in place of any difficulty you’ve been experiencing; ask Him to reveal His activity and His power around you; ask Him for His favour as you commit to doing His work.
