Welcome to our praise and worship guide using the Psalms. This guide is intended to help you spend a few minutes in worship on a daily basis. The worship activities for each day will take about 10 minutes, and are best done before your normal devotional time. May God richly bless you as you take time to reflect on who He is and what He’s doing in your life!
Psalm 54
“With a Freewill Offering I Will Sacrifice to You”
Day 1
Read verse 1. Praise God today because of He is a saving God. First, think about how He saved you from sin: retell the story of your salvation to Him and thank Him for Jesus. In what other ways do you need saving today? Cry out to the Lord for His salvation. In what way do you need Him to defend you in some way? Again, cry out to Him for this and trust His promises.
Day 2
Read verse 2. Praise God today because of His compassionate mercy and His love for you. Think about His recent answers to your prayers, and tell Him how His faithfulness in doing this gives you confidence to trust Him. What need do you have personally? Ask the Lord to hear you as you pray for your need.
Day 3
Read verse 3. Praise God because He is a powerful protector. In what ways has He protected you in the past? Tell Him this and again tell Him how His faithfulness to you gives you confidence to continue trusting Him. Who or what are your enemies that threaten you? Cry out to the Lord for His protection.
Day 4
Read verses 4 and 5. Praise God because of He is an ever-present helper. Think about how the Lord has helped you in your work and service, and upheld you through difficulties in the past. Tell Him this and thank Him for His help. What help do you specifically need today? Tell Him this and trust in His promises.
Day 5
Read verses 6 and 7. Think about the goodness of the Lord and praise Him because He is a good God. Think about how He has saved you, answered you, protected you and helped you, and thank Him. Tell Him how you see His good purpose unfolding in your life. Ask Him what sacrifice He desires from you.
